There has been much debate about the possible demise of international business travel with the days of expensive business class travel and Flights accompanied with stays in top quality hotels from around the world coming under ever closer scrutiny by many firms. Others argue the extravagance of these luxury corporate business trips cannot be sustained in the ever challenging global market place, cost cutting measures have been adopted by some firms aimed at curtailing ever increasing costs. It has also been argued with the advent of technology the face to face meetings no longer need to take place on many occasions with the advent of video conferencing and the Internet et al.
For those involved in corporate travel it is often characterised by hard work, plenty of stress and lonely waits the airport and Hotel Rooms than the glamorous image of jet setting around the world to attend important business meetings. However some have benefited from work related travel and used it to their own advantage to see the world, discover new cultures, customs and broaden horizons. With both national and international business trips often having very tight schedules it can be a challenge to get any time to fit in a quick tour of the place you are at. If the schedules allow why not fit in that whistle-stop tour of the place, you never know when you might get another chance to see it.
