The building itself is an impressive one, it has been described as extraordinary and romantic over the years and the design is certainly eye catching. The Hall is set amongst unspoilt landscaped parkland and is surrounded by gardens. The Hall is located within the extensive Estate that is approx 3,800 acres in size and part from the Hall boasts a number of houses, farms, cottages, commercial properties and woodland.

The Estate is located on the borders of Northamptonshire and Cambridgeshire and displays some wonderful scenery a hallmark of the English countryside.

The main attraction on the Estate is the Hall, it was built in a mixture of styles. There are elements of 15th century design displayed in the century tower and chapel that were assembled during the reign of King Henry VII. Whilst the new wing in the west was added later in the 17th century giving a contrast in styles in one building.

The Marble Hall and the main staircase were designed by Henry Ashton are considered as wonderful examples of the mid-Victorian revival that occurred back in the middle part of the 18th century.

The Drawing Room is perhaps not surprisingly the largest room in the house. Visitors will see an impressive and imposing room that was originally formed from the medieval Chapel in approx 1740. The ceiling in the room dates from the 18th century however the current decoration of the room is from the 19th century. The room is grand and offers visitors with a great spectacle.

The Dining Room was originally designed by Henry Ashton and built in 1860. Notable features include the three large Gothic windows that are replicas of the windows that were in the North wall of the medieval Chapel. The dining room has a large dining table and classic fireplace and contains a number of interesting period features for visitors to see.

The Library is home to an extensive collection of books, from the Main Library there is a small passage that leads to the Inner Library that is located in the medieval Sapcote Tower. There are also a number of other notable rooms for visitors to explore further these include the Lower and Upper Octagon rooms and the Yellow Drawing Room among others. The rooms offer an insight in to how the house was in the past and an insight in to a stately home dating from the Victorian period.

The Gardens on display offer visitors some great views, they are a great place to relax and enjoy the fine scenery by taking a leisurely stroll when visiting. There is very little left of the original gardens and design, visitors can see currently the gardens as they were laid out in 1913 when a number of lawns and paths were created.

Unfortunately by 1980 a large portion of the Edwardian garden had become neglected, however this started a new programme of restoration in the gardens and the project added a flower garden, shrub garden and an arboretum was created. In more recent time the Gothic orangery was built to celebrate the Millennium whilst a Gothic arbour was completed for the Jubilee celebrations.

The Walled Garden Centre is located on the site of the Hall's kitchen garden. The garden centre offers a range of garden related equipment, plants, and furniture among other things.
