Oakwood Theme Park is a theme park located in the tranquil Pembrokeshire countryside in scenic Wales, with a number of rides & attractions for the family. The theme park is located in 80 acres of countryside next to the village of Canaston Bridge, 9 miles from Haverfordwest in south west Wales. Over the years the park has added new rides and attractions and grown steadily, there are currently around 30 rides and a number of attractions including rides for the family and kids rides.

Attractions


Oakwood Theme Park includes a choice of rides and attractions that are contained within the park, with something for the whole family, for thrill seekers there are a number of thrilling white knuckle rides, there are family rides that the whole family can enjoy along with rides aimed at children offering altogether gentler experiences for younger visitors.

The Thrill Rides offer visitors plenty of adrenaline filled action and adventure. Rides include the Speed roller coaster ride, offering 2,000 feet of twists, turns, loops, plunges and climbs going at speeds up to 95 kph. Megafobia is a wooden roller coaster promising visitors a wildly fun time, with close to 3,000 feet of track there is plenty for roller coaster enthusiasts to enjoy here. Drenched is an exciting water roller coaster where visitors can experience a 100 foot drop at speeds close to 90 kph. In addition there is a 45 foot splash awaiting visitors on the bridge. Bounce is a launch tower where visitors can experience what it is to be launched in to the air at 70 kph, with more excitement as visitors are launched back to ground again. Vertigo is a skycoaster where visitors can experience the free falling extreme flight experience first hand.

The Kids Rides offer something for younger visitors to enjoy, Circus Land includes a kid’s carousel and train along with pedal go karts and a clown coaster. Brer Rabbit’s Burrow is where kids can take the bunny train and meet Brer Rabbit and his friends. Gold Panning is where kids can join the gold rush and look for their own gold.

The Family Rides include Waterfall, an exciting water slide for the whole family to enjoy. Riders sit in the sledges and go down the steep slides in to a large pool of water. Pirate Ship is a fun ride where riders will experience being tossed from side to side across the seas. Mini Golf offers the chance for the whole family to enjoy a spot of golf with a number of holes to play on. Treetops Coaster is a steel sit down roller coaster that takes riders through an area of high trees with plenty of twists, turns and thrills. Spooky 3D takes riders through a haunted house on a train, visitors can look out for some frightening sights, grabbing and grasping!

After Dark at the park offers visitors the opportunity to enjoy rides in the dark along with fireworks displays offering an interesting alternative experience to the traditional day time rides. The Neverland Themed area includes a number of rides and attractions for the family to enjoy including Skull Rock, Crocodile Coaster, Jolly Roger and London Taxi Ride.

How to Get There


The site is accessible by both car and public transport.

By Car:

The distance from central London is approx 235 miles with a journey time of approx 4 hours to 5 hours depending on traffic and time of day.

From London take the A4, then take the M4 and drive right until it finishes and take the A48 and then the A40, then take the A5075 and keep driving until the park shows up on the right.

From Cardiff the park is approx 90 miles with a journey time of 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours. From Cardiff take the A470 and the M4 towards Bridgend, then take the A48, then A40 and then the A5075 and keep driving until the park appears on the right.

Car Parking is available on site and is free of charge.

By Train:

From London Paddington Station there are services to Newport railway station in Wales, from Newport there are services to Haverfordwest railway station, with a journey time of approx 5 hours. From Haverfordwest visitors would need to take a taxi to Oakwood. From Cardiff Central railway station there are services to Haverfordwest with a journey time of around 2 hours 30 minutes to 3 hours approx.

Bus/Coach:

There are coach services from London Victoria coach station to Haverfordwest via National Express, the journey time is approx 7 hours 10 minutes. From Haverfordwest, visitors would need to get a taxi to Oakwood. From Cardiff there are services to Haverfordwest with a journey time of 3 hours 45 minutes to 4 hours.

Opening Times:

Oakwood Theme Park is usually open from the end of March to the start of November:

Mon to Sun: 10.00 to 17.00/18.00 approx (with some days open until 22.00). There are certain days when the opening times vary due to weather conditions.

There are a number of eateries located at the park, The Restaurant serves jacket potatoes, pasta, fish and chips, pies, salads and more. There is also a burger bar, chicken diner, café and ice cream outlets offering a range of hot and cold snacks, meals and drinks.
