Southport Pleasureland is a theme park located in the seaside town of Southport in Merseyside with a number of rides & attractions for the family. The amusement park is located in a 32 acres site in the scenic seaside town of Southport in north west England. The theme park includes approx 100 rides and attractions at peak season offering something for the whole family.

Attractions


Southport Pleasureland includes a choice of rides and attractions that are contained within the park, with something for the whole family, for thrill seekers there are a number of thrilling white knuckle rides, there are family rides that the whole family can enjoy along with rides aimed at children offering altogether gentler experiences for younger visitors.

The Thrill Rides offer visitors adrenaline packed action and plenty of fun. Rides include the Wild Cat coaster and the Piranha River Ride offering plenty of white knuckle thrills. The Pirate Ship ride turns 180 degrees giving a wonderful view of the park; the Waltzer is a popular ride with its off centre spinning helping to create the whip cycle. The Ghost Train ride is one of the largest of its type in the UK.

The Kids Rides offer plenty of excitement and fun for younger visitors, rides include a number of junior carousels, tea cups, car rides, mini-dodgems, mini-caterpillar coaster and many more. Rides are regularly changed so visitors can look forward to exciting new experiences each time they come the Pleasureland.

The attractions at park in include Battlefield Live where friends and family can enjoy a laser shoot out. The F1 Go Kart Track is perfect for budding racing drivers, with drivers able to test themselves on the track against others. The Pleasureland Showbar is home to a number of interesting live performances including magicians and Christmas pantomimes. The Café & Bar area gives visitors the opportunity to relax with some snacks and refreshments whilst the kids enjoy themselves at the indoor soft play area. The indoor amusement arcade offers something for everyone with traditional amusements along with the latest computer and video games. There are a number of games stalls to explore along with palm reading services on offer.

The Southport Pleasureland Arena was completed in 2013, it provides a purpose built performance and exhibition area catering for crowds of up to 5,000 people. There is a grassed area for seating and staging and is available for hire for festivals, shows, exhibitions, charity events and concerts.

How to Get There


The site is accessible by both car and public transport.

By Car:

The distance from central London is approx 220 miles with a journey time of approx 4 hours to 5 hours depending on traffic and time of day.

From London take the A502, then A406 North Circular and then on to the M1 at junction 1. Drive up to the junction with the M6 and take the M6 up to junction 26 and take the M58. From the M58 at junction 3 take the A570 and then the A565 then take the exit for Duke Street at the roundabout and at the next roundabout take the exit for Victoria Way. Drive straight to the next roundabout and on the right will be Southport Pleasureland.

Car Parking is available on site (chargeable approx £5).

For those using Satellite Navigation systems the postcode to use is PR8 1RX.

By Train:

From London Euston Station there are services to Crewe railway station, from Crewe there are services to Liverpool South Parkway station and from here there are services to Southport with a journey time of around 3 hours 30 minutes to 4 hours approx.

Bus/Coach:

There are regular coach services from London Victoria coach station to Southport via National Express, the journey time is approx 5 hours 45 minutes to 6 hours 30 minutes depending on time of day & traffic.

Opening Times:

Southport Pleasureland is usually open from the end of March to the end of September:

Mon to Sun: 12.00 to 18.00 approx. There are certain days when the opening times vary due to weather conditions.

Visitors purchase tokens at £1 each with most rides 1 to 3 tokens.


Facilities:

There is a café and bar area along with food and drinks outlets where visitors can get a range of snacks and refreshments, ice cream and candy floss. There is also a picnic area where visitors can bring their own food and drink and enjoy a picnic at the park.
