Visa Requirements

Business Customs and Etiquette

Business greetings are informal and Danes may introduce themselves by their first names. Business greetings are usually with a handshake, time keeping and punctuality for meetings is important. Business cards are usually exchanged after introductions. Communication is direct with eye contact being maintained, opinions of those involved will be sought. Meeting presentation and data should be of a high standard.

Business meetings may be held over lunch or dinner; most Danish business people speak English and may speak other languages too. Business visitors may wish to avoid visiting from mid June to mid August which are a the peak holiday periods. Business practices and protocols are similar to that in most western countries.

Denmark has a low treat of crime and is a relatively safe country to visit for business travellers and tourists. There are incidents of pick pockets particularly in crowded public places and bag snatching that you should be aware of. It is important to always remain alert to your particular surroundings and environment and stay vigilant to avoid trouble.

Denmark Weather & Climate

Denmark's location means it has a temperate climate characterised by warm to cool summers and mild to cold winters. Denmark is a destination that can be visited throughout the year. Within the country there are variances, the country is located between thee climatic zones; notable the Atlantic influence in the west, the Continental influence in the east and the Borea influence in the north). The weather in the country is a mixture of the three climatic zones. Lightweight cotton and linen clothing can be warn in the summer, rain coats are advisable throughout the year. Additional layers and warmer winter clothing is required in the winter with long periods of cold weather and snowfall.
