Getting To Manchester Airport

By Public Transport

Train:

Manchester Airport has a rail station called ‘The Station’ located in the airport making it quick and easy for passengers to use the train to get to and from the airport. There are regular train services from the airport to Manchester city centre to stations such as Manchester Piccadilly where there are many rail connects to destinations across the UK. The frequency of trains is around every 12 minutes, the journey time to Manchester city centre is around 20 minutes. Bus & Coach:

There are a number of bus services that serve the airport, these include

Skyline – Stagecoach 43: This service runs from Manchester city centre via Rusholme, Fallowfield, Withington, Northenden and Wythenshawe. The frequency is every 10 minutes, from early mornings to late in the evenings.

Skyline – Stagecoach 105: This services runs from Manchester city centre via Princess Road, Northenden, Benchill, Wythenshawe and Portway. The service is not as frequent as the Stagecoach 43 with frequency of every 30 minutes from early mornings to late evenings.

Skyline – Stagecoach 369/X69: This runs from Stockport via Edgeley, Adswood, Cheadle Hulme, Heald Green and Wythenshawe. The frequency is approx twice an hour, service operate from early morning to late in the evening.

Arriva 18: This service runs from Altrincham to The Trafford Centre via Stretford, Sale, Baguely, Wythenshawe and Manchester Airport. Frequency is every 30 minutes, starting from early morning to late evening.

Arriva 19: This service runs from Altrincham via Sale, Wythenshawe to Manchester Airport. The frequency is every 10 minutes, 24 hours a day.

By Car

Manchester airport is around 30 minutes drive from Manchester city centre, from the M56 drive to junction 5 where there is a link road that takes you to the airport. The terminals and car parking are well signposted.

Airport Car Parking

Manchester airport has facilities for both Short Term & Long Term Car Parking. Short term The minimum cost of parking at the short term car park is £1.80 for up to 30 minutes, the cost is then £5.10 for 2 hours and £10 for 4 hours. You can save on the cost of parking by pre booking.

Parking costs for Motorcycles are £2 per day.

Long Term parking is available, charges start from £19 per day if you pay on the day you arrive. The long term car parking can be pre booked, cheaper prices & discounts are available if you book earlier, if you do need long term airport parking it is well worth booking in advance rather than on the day to both guarantee a parking space and save money on parking costs.
