The Blackpool Illuminations attracts millions of visitors each year from far and wide. Visitors can see the illuminations from the end of August to the start of November each year, the whole of Blackpool is lit up during this period.

Blackpool Zoo is located close to Stanley Park in Blackpool. The zoo contains a number of species of unusual and exotic animals, it is a firm favourite for wildlife and nature fans set in beautiful parklands.

Amazonia is an enclosure that allows visitors to see first hand some of the zoo’s inhabitants. Visitors can expeirence wildlife from the Amazon including birds and monkeys whose home is the Amazon rainforests.

The feeding sessions are very popular particularly among children. Visitors can ride on a miniature train that goes across the parkland and through the woods and past some of the animal enclosures.

The Sea Life Centre is located along the Promenade, in the famous Golden Mile; here visitors can find marine displays including a rare display of sea snakes.

The centre includes the largest collection of tropical sharks in Europe and includes the ocean tank that is home to a number of tropical sharks and reef fish.

Highlights includes walking through the spectacular underground tunnel, visitors can learn more about marine life with informative talks and feeding demonstrations.

Madame Tussauds Blackpool (formally Louis Tussauds Waxworks), is a popular attraction in the seaside town; where visitors can meet the famous and well known at their galleries. There are stars of cinema, TV and theatre, a football hall of fame with famous names.

For those in search of a more adventure there is the chamber of horrors where there are plenty of villains and more sinister characters around.

Perhaps not for the faint hearted, the resort makes a clear statement in its aim to be a thrill seekers paradise, over the years visitors have tended to either love it or hate it.

Blackpool is synonymous with fun and excitement, the area is subject to an ambitious programme of regeneration, with the aim to take Blackpool to greater heights in the future.
