The hotel building is a former 19th century warehouse in the Britannia Pavilion that includes Grade I listed warehouses made from red brick and iron giving the hotel its distinctive appearance. The buildings have been renovated whilst retaining their period looks offering a hotel with plenty of character and charm along with modern facilities.
The range of hotel facilities mean it is suitable for both business and leisure guests. The hotel is a short walk from a range of local and historic attractions in Liverpool city centre and close to major roads and public transport services.
Local transport links in the area include Liverpool James Street train station located approx half a mile away; where there are services to the surrounding areas including New Brighton, West Kirby and Chester. The main Liverpool Lime Street station is located less than one mile away; there are many local and regional services available including to Wigan, Bolton, Manchester, Birmingham and London. The hotel is close by to major roads including the A561 and M62 motorway providing good road connections.
Visitors can expect a friendly welcome and good levels of service at the hotel. The hotel is located in the seaside town of Southport where visitors can find access to local amenities. Southport is located less than 20 miles from Liverpool and offers visitors a range of shopping facilities, eateries, cafes, bars, pubs and restaurants. The closest train stations are located at Liverpool James Street, Liverpool Central and Liverpool Lime Street.
Facilities
There are a total of 135 guest bedrooms, all the rooms offer en-suite facilities. The rooms are decorated and furnished to a good standard offering comfortable 3 star accommodation. Guests can choose from standard and executive rooms and for more space and luxury there are suites available.
Room facilities include television with satellite channels, telephone, radio, alarm clock, hairdryer, work desk and tea and coffee making facilities.

The hotel does not have its own car park, however there are car parking facilities at Albert Dock and the Arena and Convention Centre Car Park located a short walk from the hotel. The approx cost is £15 per 24 hours.

Each morning there is a Continental breakfast including hot and cold items such as scrambled eggs, sausages, cereals, croissants, yogurts, fruits, juices and hot and cold drinks.
The bar offers guests a place to relax and unwind with a choice of drinks including soft drinks, beers, wines and spirits. There is comfortable seating with armchairs and a large screen television, the relaxed atmosphere makes it ideal to catch up with family and friends.
The hotel does not have a in-house restaurant however there is plenty of choice both in the Albert Dock area and in Liverpool city centre located a few minutes walk away. There are a choice of bars, pubs, eateries and restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets. There are a range of cuisines available including British, European, Chinese, Indian, Thai, Italian and International.

The hotel’s location in the coastal town of Southport in Merseyside provides visitors with a convenient location from which to see the various sights and attractions both in the town and in the Merseyside region. Merseyside offer visitors with plenty of coastline and beaches away from the crowds, with a range of landscapes, a rich history and culture along with some scenic English countryside making it place well worth visiting.
There are a number of local attractions and places of interest located in the local area. The hotel is located in Liverpool's Albert Docks that were built back in 1846, once a thriving port in recent years they have been renovated and are once again among Liverpool’s biggest attractions. Visitors can find some of the finest museums in the city here along with a choice of cafes and restaurants. The area has a continental feel to it and has plenty for visitors to do including the famous Beatles Story, the Maritime Museum and HM Customs & Excise National Museum.
The Everyman Theatre and Liverpool Empire Theatre are both located within one mile of the hotel. Both theatres have an interesting and varied programme of events showing the best in the arts with live theatre, entertainment and comedy.

The Walker Art Gallery that holds one of the most distinguished collections of fine and decorative art. The collection of galleries range from the Renaissance period to contemporary works.
Liverpool has been a designated a World Heritage Site since 2004. The Liverpool World Heritage Site is formally known as Liverpool Maritime Mercantile City with the main part of the designated site located at the famous Liverpool waterfront. In total there are six main areas that form the site including the Albert Dock and the Commercial Centre and Cultural Quarter among others.
Historically Liverpool was an extremely important thriving port city during the empire days, historical building reflect this influential status with a number of acclaimed historic buildings. Liverpool is well known for the acclaimed architecture outlined by the fact the city has more listed buildings than any city outside London.

Shopping in Liverpool offers shoppers with plenty of options. There is high street shopping at Bold Street and Church Street, there are also shopping malls such as Liverpool ONE. Southport resort dates back to the late 18th century; it is a popular resort attracting many visitors for its beach and coastline. The town is well known for its gardens, parks and fashionable shops, there are a number of championship golf courses in the area including Royal Birkdale. The Botanic Gardens Museum contains a fine collection of Victoriana and includes information on the local history. The Atkinson Art Collection houses a fine collection of 19th and 20th century paintings and sculpture. The Lawn Mower Museum in Shakespeare Street offers visitors the chance to explore something out of the ordinary.
The Wayfarers Arcade is a shopping arcade located in Southport town centre, set in a Grade II listed building there are over 30 stores to choose from. Historic Lord Street in the town centre is the centre of shopping in the area with a range of stores, eateries, cafes and restaurants. Lord Street is known for its gardens, water features and interesting architecture of its historic buildings.
Meols Hall is located a few miles from Southport town centre; the 12th century manor house is a popular venue for weddings, during times in the summer visitors can take a guided tour of the impressive house to learn more about the rich history of the house. Southport Pleasureland is an amusement park located close by and features a range of roller coasters, rides and attractions. The Lakeside Miniature Railway is located close to the seafront in Southport; the railway is open from Easter until late October each year on a 1.5km track.
Annual events include the Southport Air Show held in summer each year featuring a range of aircraft both military and civilian; visitors can see a number of interactive and educational displays and experience aircraft simulators. The Southport Flower Show is held in late summer each year and is currently the largest independent flower show in the UK featuring a range of displays, exhibitors and events.
The Wirral is a peninsula that points out into the Irish Sea; the Wirral Way is a path on the track of an old railway, and goes from West Kirby to Hooton. West Kirby and Hoylake are located towards the end of the Wirral peninsula and include miles of award winning sandy beaches and some spectacular views of North Wales across the border.
Visitors can walk from West Kirby to the Hibre Islands, which are only islands for a few hours each day, at the islands visitors can see seals and migratory birds. Wirral Country Park provides an enjoyable day out for the family worth a visit with plenty of great wildlife in the woodland areas and has scenic views of the Clwydian Mountains.
New Brighton in the Wirral is a seaside town located approx 6 miles from Liverpool. The traditional resort is one of Merseyside’s main pleasure grounds; it hosted the Wirral Show, an annual event that boasted one of the largest outdoor funfairs in the UK, the show ceased in 2009, however visitors can still enjoy taking a relaxing stroll on the New Brighton seafront, the beach is less crowded than many others across the UK. There is also the historic Lighthouse and Fort visitors can see.
The suburb of Birkenhead is located a few miles from Liverpool and became well known for its shipbuilding industry. Birkenhead can be reached by both ferry from Liverpool and by tunnel that goes under the Mersey. The Wirral Museum is now in the former Town Hall in Birkenhead and showcases the history of the area with a range of exhibitions that include the Romans and arts and crafts.
Ness Botanic Gardens are located in Neston, South Wirral approx 12 miles from Liverpool. The gardens are well known for the collections of alpine and hardy plants. There are a range of tropical and arid plants in over 60 acres of grounds and greenhouses. There is a commitment to maintain and develop the beauty of the Gardens and great importance placed on research, conservation and education of the public. The gardens offer visitors a wonderful place to enjoy a stroll and learn more about horticulture.
Knowsley Safari Park is located approx 10 miles from Liverpool, here there are a range of animals including lions, tigers, rhinos, buffalos, camels, emus and more. There are a number of amusement rides, Mizzy Lake Farm with farmyard animals, sea lion show and woodland walk area of mixed woodland. There is plenty to see and do for the whole family in a fun day out.
The World of Glass museum is located in the town of St Helens in Merseyside approx 13 miles from Liverpool. The museum showcases the history of glass from 500BC up to the present day; visitors can see a number of impressive demonstrations and see the galleries along with the visually stunning special effects film show. The Victorian Cone Building and tunnels beneath show the Victorian glassmaking furnace and how it helped to revolutionise glass making. The museum offers an educational and enjoyable day out.
