Getting To Heathrow Airport


By Public Transport

Train:

Heathrow is well linked on the train network, the Tube (Underground) has a station that services terminals 1, 2 & 3 and stations for terminals 4 & 5. The Tube station for terminal s 1, 2 & 3 is in the area between the terminals and is a short walk to the terminals. Terminal 4 & 5 have the Tube stations at the basement areas of the main terminal buildings making it very convenient for passengers to use. The Heathrow Express offers a fast 15 minutes service from London Paddington to Heathrow airport, frequency is 4 times an hour. The service is non stop, the train goes to the central area for Terminals 1, 2 & 3 first in 15 minutes and then goes to Terminal 5 (20 minutes). If you are using terminal 4 you can get a free shuttle service from the central area to terminal 4. The cost is approx £16.50 single and £32 return. The Heathrow Connect offers a service taking 25 minutes from London Paddington to Heathrow airport, the service links to stations in West London including Ealing Broadway, Hanwell & Hayes & Harlington. The service takes you to Heathrow Central for terminals 1, 2 & 3 in around 25 minutes and on to terminal 4. Passengers travelling to terminal 5 can use the Heathrow Express to go to & from terminal 5 at no extra cost. Bus & Coach:

The central bus station at the airport is between terminals 1, 2 & 3 and is within walking distance of these terminals. There are number of local bus routes that service the airport, buses can be found at the central bus station with plenty of routes in to central London and other areas such as Staines, Uxbridge, Watford & others available. National Express operates services to & from Heathrow airport, including a service to London Victoria in central London, the journey time is around one hour (subject to traffic conditions). Fares start from £4 single offering good value. For more information please see: National Express

The Airline Oxford bus offers services to and from Oxford to Heathrow, transfer time is approx 90 minutes depending on traffic & road conditions, tickets start at £18 single & are approx £20 return. For more information please see: Oxford Flyer

By Car

Heathrow airport is located 15 miles from central London and is assessable from motorways the M4 & M25. Terminals 4 & 5 have separate entrances to the entrance for terminals 1, 2 & 3.

For terminals 1,2 & 3: Exit the M4 at junction 4 or the M25 at junction 15 and follow the signs for Heathrow Terminals 1, 2 & 3.

For Terminal 4: Has a separate entrance to terminals 1,2 & 3. From the M4 exit the motorway at junction 4A and follow the M25 South to junction 14 & follow the signs to the airport. From the M25 exit at junction 14.

For Terminal 5: Has a separate entrance to any of the other 4 terminals. From the M4 exit the motorway at junction 4A and follow the M25 South to junction 14 & follow the signs to the airport. From the M25 exit at junction 14.

Airport Car Parking


Heathrow airport has facilities for both Short Term & Long Term Car Parking. Short term The minimum cost of parking at the short term car park is £2.30 for up to 30 minutes, the cost is then over £10 for 2-3 hours and nearly £14 for 3 to 4 hours. With the cost of parking steep, it is worth pre booking parking to save some of the cost.

Long Term parking is available, charges start from £15 per day if you pay on the day you arrive. The car parks include Parking Express Heathrow and Park & Fly, there are also a number of car parks located on outskirts of the airport and near by offering long term parking facilities. Cheaper prices & discounts are available if you book earlier, if you do need long term airport parking it is well worth booking in advance rather than on the day to both guarantee a parking space and save money on parking costs.

Business Parking offers travellers the chance to park their cars at car parks closer to the airport terminals thus saving transfer time, it is available to all passengers who wish to park for a number of days.

Valet Parking is available at Heathrow for those wishing to get away quickly, you can take your car to the drop off points outside the terminals and valet staff will park your car for you in the car parks & upon your return the car is returned to you saving time. If you wish to use this it is recommended you pre book to take advantage of discounted rates available.
