The hotel is close by to a number of local attractions and places of interest in the capital. Local transport links in the area include London Charing Cross train station located a few minutes walk away with access to regular services across London and the surrounding areas and there is good access to local bus and major roads. The closest Underground (Tube) station is located a few minutes walk away at Covent Garden and London Charing Cross, both stations offer quick access across London.

The hotel offers visitors a friendly welcome and good levels of service. The hotel is located in the famous West End area of London where visitors can find easy access to local amenities. The West End is among the most popular areas for visitors in London offering a huge range of shops, boutiques, cafes, restaurants and Theatreland. The closest train stations are located at London Charing Cross, Waterloo and Waterloo East.


Facilities


The hotel has a total of 785 guest bedrooms, the rooms all come with en-suite facilities and offer comfortable accommodation and are furnished to a good standard with modern décor. Guests can choose from standard rooms, club rooms and executive rooms offering more space and luxury.

Room facilities include television with satellite channels, telephone, alarm clock, hairdryer, iron and ironing facilities and tea and coffee making amenities. There is 24 hour room service available.

There is Wi-Fi internet access available at the hotel (chargeable). There are no on-site car parking facilities, however there is the NCP Drury Lane car park located on Parker Street, less than 10 minutes walk from the hotel. The approx cost is £36 per day.

Hotel Guests are given complimentary access to the fitness facilities at the Virgin Active Gym located opposite the hotel featuring a fully featured gymnasium and fitness facilities.

There are facilities for business meetings, events and conferences with banqueting facilities for up to 200 delegates. The facilities can also be hired for private functions and events.

Guests can enjoy a hot full English breakfast each morning or a Continental breakfast with a choice of breads, pastries, fruits, juices, yogurts, cereals and tea and coffee for a great start to the day.

The Strand Carvery restaurant offers diners a range of roast meats with a daily changing menu; there is a hot and cold buffet and à la carte menu that offers a choice of starters, main and temping desserts.

The Johnston’s Brasserie offers European cuisine in a relaxed environment. The open plan restaurant has a Mediterranean feel to it, offering a range of temping meat, fish and vegetable dishes. There are plenty of options for vegetarians. There is temping dessert menu to try and an impressive wine list to help find the perfect accompaniment to your meal.

The Lounge Bar offers a place where guests can sit back and relax with a range of hot and cold drinks and light snacks. The Lounge is a great place to catch up with family, friends and colleagues in a relaxed environment.

The Mask Bar offers guests a wide ranging cocktail menu and a variety of drinks including soft drinks, beers, wines, spirits, champagnes and liqueurs. The stylish bar offers a place to relax and unwind in a relaxing environment.

Local Attractions


The hotel provides a good base from which to explore a number of attractions in London and local places of interest.

The hotel is situated in the West End in the heart of London offering a wonderful location from which to see the various sights and attractions of one of the world’s great cities. London offers something for everyone there are a huge range of local shops specialising in local arts and crafts along with larger department stores and a variety of bars, restaurants and entertainment facilities.

There are a number of local attractions and places of interest close by to the hotel, including Theatreland where visitors can see a huge range of West End shows, plays, comedies and entertainment. The London Transport Museum and British Museum are located less than one mile away.

There are a number of theatres located close by including the Theatre Royal, Aldwych Theatre and Lyceum Theatre. Regents Park offers a scenic landscape along with the famous boating lake, providing a quiet oasis in the city, whilst London Zoo offers a fun day out for the whole family; both are located within 3 miles of the hotel.

Marble Arch and the famous shopping streets of Oxford Street, Regent Street and Bond Street are located 2 miles away. The London Eye, Westminster Abbey, Houses of Parliament and Big Ben are all within 1 mile of the hotel via a short taxi ride or the tube.

The World Heritage Site at Maritime Greenwich is located approx 7 miles to the east and includes a number of famous attractions such as the Royal Observatory and the National Maritime Museum.

The world famous Hyde Park is located a couple of miles away, the park offers a wonderful landscape in central London covering and area of 350 acres offering a great place to enjoy a number of walks, take part in boating, enjoy horse riding, rollerblading and eating out. Famous sights such as Marble Arch are within walking distance from Hyde Park.

Shopping in London offers visitors a huge choice of shopping facilities, the capital is home to some of the most famous shopping streets in the world including Oxford Street and Regent Street. Here visitors can find a wide range of stores to suit a range of budgets including famous department stores such as Selfridges, Marks & Spencer and House of Fraser.

London is a large city with many distinct areas offering a range of attractions. To the north of London visitors can find fashionable Camden famous for its markets and alternative style. West London and surrounding areas offers Windsor Castle, an official residence of the Queen and Eton College, one of the oldest and most prestigious schools in the UK. The world renowned Kew Gardens, one of the world’s leading botanic gardens containing a huge range of plants and fungi. Twickenham is home to the rugby stadium and fascinating Museum of Rugby. Kensington Palace is a firm favourite among visitors well known as the home of the late Diana, Princess of Wales.

Central London contains some of the world’s best known districts; Covent Garden, Soho, Mayfair, Piccadilly and Westminster are all located relatively close to each other. The area is also a shopper’s paradise with Oxford Street, Regent Street and Bond Street among others to explore. Close by is fashionable Carnaby Street that came to symbolise the swinging sixties. London contains many markets including famous ones such as Covent Garden Market and Portobello Road Market to many smaller ones offering visitors with plenty of choice.

The city of London square mile area is home to many financial institutions based in London. There is an extraordinary concentration of banks from all over the world, insurance firms and all types of financial institutions.

There are a number of fine historical buildings here such as Westminster Abbey located in central London. There is also Buckingham Palace in the area, possibly the most famous palace in the world, visitors can go on guided tours so see inside the palace.

The hotel provides a convenient place from which to discover a range of attractions in the surrounding areas both in central London and the outer suburbs. Visitors can use a variety of modes of transport to get around ranging from using taxis to public transport with buses, trains, Underground (Tube) and cycling with cycling hire stations available across the capital.

In Kent attractions include historic Leeds Castle, Chartwell House and the World Heritage Sites in Canterbury. East Sussex is known for the south coast with the city of Brighton located one hour from London.
