The Acorn Lodge is housed in a historic building built back in 1760; the building retains its original features offering a hotel with plenty of charm and character. The guest house makes a fine choice for those looking for good budget accommodation and wishing to remain close to the city but get away from the extra noise and congestion of the city centre.

Facilities

There are a total of 10 guest bedrooms offering en-suite facilities. Guests can choose from single, twin ,double and family rooms at the hotel.

The guest bedrooms offer comfortable, functional 2 star accommodation. Room facilities include television, hairdryer, towels and toiletries and tea and coffee making facilities.

The hotel’s rooms are all non-smoking in accordance with hotel policy.

Each morning guests can enjoy a hot full Scottish breakfast; there is also a vegetarian breakfast available.

The hotel offers bed and breakfast services and therefore does not have an in-house hotel bar and restaurant. The centre of Edinburgh is located 5 minutes bus ride away; here guests will find a wide range of dining options.

There are a range of eateries, bars, cafes and restaurants that cater for most tastes and budgets. There are a range of cuisines available including Scottish, modern European, Chinese, Indian, Thai and International.

There is currently no internet access available at the hotel, there are several internet cafes located in Edinburgh city centre. There is on street car parking available free of charge.

The guest house is a short bus ride from the centre of Edinburgh and its well known attractions and shopping streets, Princes Street and the Royal Mile. The main Edinburgh rail station, Waverley is located approx one mile away and is a short bus ride away.

The hotel is located in the north east of Edinburgh close by to the city centre with the range of shopping facilities, art galleries, bars, restaurants and entertainment venues. The hotel is close by to the shore where visitors can find waterfront at Leith, the Royal Yacht Britannia and a selection of bars and restaurants at the Ocean Terminal shopping centre located close by. The hotel provides a convenient place from which to explore attractions in Edinburgh & Lothians region. The A8 and A90 offer access to Edinburgh Airport located approx 10 miles away by road.
