The Ballantrae Hotel is a family run hotel offering good value for money, where visitors can expect a warm welcome and is centrally located making it a great place from which visitors can explore Edinburgh’s many attractions.
The hotel is housed within a Grade A listed building and benefits from good sized spacious rooms and high ceilings along with period details. The hotel offers a place full of charm and character that offers plenty of history along with modern facilities. There is a 24 hour reception and there are free parking spaces for visitors but due to limited spaces, the availability is on a first come first served basis.
Facilities
There are a total of 19 guest bedrooms offering en-suite facilities. Guests can choose from single, double, triple and family rooms.
The guest bedrooms offer comfortable 3 star accommodation. Room facilities include television with satellite channels, telephone, radio, alarm clock, hairdryer, iron and ironing amenities, work desk and tea and coffee making facilities. Some of the bedrooms offer wonderful views of the city.
Please note, due to the historical nature of the building there are no lifts in the hotel, help with luggage is available if required.
The hotel’s rooms are all non-smoking in accordance with hotel policy.
Each morning guests can enjoy a Continental breakfast that comes included in the room rate. Guests can also enjoy a hot Scottish breakfast (chargeable).
There is free Wi-Fi internet access available at the hotel. There are limited free car parking facilities available on-site for hotel guests.

The residents’ bar offers guests a place to sit back, relax and unwind with a choice of drinks available. Drinks include a range of beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks. The relaxed atmosphere makes it an ideal place to catch up with family, friends and colleagues.

Edinburgh Waverley station is located a short walk away making the hotel easily assessable.
The hotel is located in the city centre of Edinburgh where visitors will find the renowned shopping facilities, art galleries, bars, restaurants and entertainment venues that the Scottish capital is famous for. The hotel is a convenient place from which to explore the attractions in the Edinburgh & Lothians region and surrounding areas. The A8 offers access to Edinburgh Airport located approx 8 miles away by road.
