The hotel building was built back in 1923 and was once a bank, the hotel has three storeys and has been refurbished a few years ago and retains many period features. The hotel is located in the city centre close by to a number of shopping facilities, art galleries, bars, restaurants and entertainment venues in the Scottish capital.

Facilities

There are a total of 9 guest bedrooms offering en-suite facilities. Guests can choose from standard and executive rooms with a choice double, twin and superior rooms available.

Each of the rooms is individually designed and decorated and are all named after a famous Scot. The Bank Hotel offers an interesting alternative to the large hotel chains, the individually designed rooms in the historic building offers a warm and friendly atmosphere of a boutique hotel.

The guest bedrooms are contemporary in design and offer comfortable 3 star accommodation. Room facilities include television, telephone, radio, alarm clock, hairdryer, iron and ironing amenities, work desk, safety deposit box, refrigerator and tea and coffee making facilities.

The hotel’s rooms are all non-smoking in accordance with hotel policy.

Each morning guests can enjoy a hot Scottish breakfast or a Continental breakfast with a choice of breads, preserves, cereals, fruits and hot and cold drinks.

The hotel bar offers guests a place to sit back, relax and unwind with a choice of drinks available. Drinks include a range of beers, malts, wines, spirits, cocktails and soft drinks. The bar menu serves a wide range of food. The relaxed atmosphere makes it an ideal place to catch up with family, friends and colleagues. The bar offers free Wi-Fi internet connections and has an outdoor seating area that overlooks the famous Royal Mile.

The hotel is well located close by to famous attractions such as Edinburgh Castle and a few minutes walk from Waverley train station. Edinburgh Airport is assessable by public transport via the Airlink bus service which runs from the airport to the city centre with a frequency of every 10 minutes.

The hotel is a convenient place from which to explore the attractions in the Edinburgh & Lothians regions and surrounding. The A8 offers access to Edinburgh Airport located approx 8 miles away by road.
