The hotel is newly built opening back in 2011, it has been designed in a contemporary style featuring a stylish interior, offering guests modern facilities and accommodation at competitive rates. The hotel building is one of the tallest in Cardiff and offers some iconic panoramic views over the city of Cardiff and Cardiff Bay. The hotel is conveniently located a few miles from the M4 motorway and A48(M), and a 30 minute drive from Cardiff Airport.

The hotel is ideal for guests looking for a city centre hotel in the Welsh capital with local cafes, shops and restaurants easily assessable. The hotel includes facilities for business meeting, events and conferences ensuring the hotel is suitable for both leisure and business guests.

Visitors can look forward to a warm welcome and good levels of service at hotel. The hotel’s location in Cardiff’s compact city centre ensures guests are close by to a number of Cardiff’s sights and attractions including both the Millennium Stadium and Cardiff Castle. Local transport links include the train stations located at Cardiff Central, Cardiff Queen Street and Cardiff Bay. The main Cardiff Central railway station is located a few minutes walk away, there are local services across Cardiff, the surrounding areas along with services to London and other cities.


Facilities


There are a total of 216 guest bedrooms at the hotel providing guests with comfortable 3 star accommodation and facilities. Rooms are en-suite and are furnished and decorated to a good standard. Guests can choose from double, twin and family rooms. Rooms on the 10th and 11th floors offer some stunning views over the city skyline.

Room facilities include air conditioning, flat screen television, telephone hairdryer, radio/wake up alarm, ironing facilities, laptop safe, trouser press and tea and coffee making facilities. All public areas are non-smoking in accordance with hotel policy.

There is free Wi-Fi internet access available at the hotel, there are no on-site car parking facilities, there are off site car parking facilities located at Wood Street a short distance from the hotel. There is a 20% discount available for hotel guests. The approx cost is £18-19 per day full rate with a cost of £15-16 after the 20% discount.

The hotel includes facilities to host business meetings, conferences and events with a choice of well equipped rooms available. There are facilities for hosting events for up to 100 delegates with a choice of packages available.

Guests can enjoy the breakfast buffet each morning that includes a mix of hot and cold items including a choice of breads, cereals, preserves, pastries, cold meats, eggs, sausages, mushrooms, beans and tea and coffee.

The Stir Bar has a relaxed atmosphere and includes a choice of bar food and drinks including a choice of cocktails, beers, ciders, spirits, wines and soft drinks. There are a choice of snacks and light meals available, the bar is the perfect place catch up with friends, family and work colleagues.

The Stir Restaurant provides diners with an enjoyable dining experience with a choice of both classic favourites and contemporary dishes to try. There are a choice of meat, fish and vegetable dishes along with a choice of light bites, starters, and tempting desserts. The seasonal menus the finest in fresh, seasonal produce. The restaurant is located on the 1st floor offers panoramic views over Cardiff.

Cardiff Castle is located in the heart of Cardiff city centre, under 10 minutes walk from the hotel. One of the best known attractions in the city there are 2,000 years of history to discover here. The castle is full of history and character dating back to Roman times, there are a number of tours of the castle available to help visitors better understand the rich history and heritage. The Interpretation Centre includes a film and exhibition looking at 2,000 years of castle history.

Personal audio guides are available for visitors to tour the battlements, wartime tunnels, Norman Keep, impressive Victorian apartments and the grounds. Visitors can look out for the lavish interiors, murals, stained glass, gilding and impressive craftsmanship shown inside the rooms. The historic St John the Baptist Parish Church located at St John Street in the city centre, less than 10 minutes walk from the hotel. Dating back to the 12th century, the building is one of the oldest buildings in Cardiff that is still in use. The church is in active use with regular worship, it is also used for baptisms and weddings along with art exhibitions, lectures and concerts.

Llandaff Cathedral cathedral located in Llandaff a short distance north of Cardiff city centre, 2.5 miles from the hotel. The 12th century cathedral is located on one of the oldest christen sites in the UK. The cathedral is also a parish church and includes prayer and music services. The Norwegian Church Arts Centre is located in Cardiff Bay, 1.5 miles from the hotel.
