Barry’s Amusements is the largest theme park in Northern Ireland, located in Portrush & features a number of rides & attractions for the family. The theme park is located on the north coast of Northern Ireland in the seaside resort town of Portrush, the park is easily accessible from the city of Belfast. There are around 15 rides and attractions at the theme park with a number of family and rides for children ensuring a fun day out for the family.

Barry’s Amusements includes a choice of rides and attractions offering plenty of excitement and fun for the whole family, for thrill seekers there are roller coasters and exciting rides along with family rides and rides for children.

The Family Rides includes number of fun rides designed for the whole family to enjoy. Rides include Freak Out, a pendulum based ride where riders sit facing each other on chairs that rotate around the pendulum, the ride reaches a height of up to 72 feet. The Carousel, is one of the best loved rides where riders sit on wooden horses that move up and down to simulate galloping. The Cyclone, is an exciting ride where riders sit in spinning cars that are suspended one way and then the other. Dodgems, offer a classic theme park experience, drivers can enjoy modern cars on a fast track with plenty of action and bumps on offer.

The Experience, is a thrilling ride where riders can experience the thrill of being hung upside down through the air. The Ghost Train is a ride where riders sit in a train that moves through a darkened tunnel, but riders will have to look out for the horror items on show including witches, ghosts and skeletons. The Looping Star, is an all action roller coaster ride where riders will be taken on an exhilarating journey whilst seeing some great views of the Causeway Coast. The SRV is a motion simulation ride, where riders sit in the carriage that tilts, jolts, rises and falls offering an enthralling experience.

The Kids Rides offer fun and excitement for younger visitors, rides include the Big Apple, a children’s’ roller coaster where riders sit on the caterpillar that winds its way through the big apple. Mini Dodgems, bring classic fun to younger visitors with smaller cars designed for children. The Helter Skelter, is a spiral slide that is built inside a high tower, visitors climb up the tower and ride down the slide. Monte Carlo, is a racing ride for children where children can ride their own horse, jet or car. Turtle Splash is a water ride, riders sit inside turtle themed logs that go along the slide and track, ensuring plenty of fun and splashes.

How to Get There


The site is accessible by both car and public transport.

By Car:

The distance from central Belfast is approx 60 miles with a journey time of approx 1 hour 10-15 minutes.

From Belfast take the M2 northbound, at junction 1 take the A26 then drive until the road merges back to the M2 then drive until the road merges back on to the A26. Drive on the A26 until the roundabout with an exit for the B52 then follow the road until the A2 and take the A2 in to Portrush.

Free car parking is available in Portrush at East & West Strand, Landsdowne and Dunluce car parks.

For those using Satellite Navigation systems the postcode to use is BT56 8DX.

By Train:

From Belfast Central Station there are regular services to Coleraine Train Station, with a journey time of approx 1 hour 20 minutes. From Coleraine station there are services to Portrush Train Station with a journey time of 10-15 minutes.

Bus/Coach:

There are bus services from Pottingers Entry High Street Belfast City Centre with Bus 218 to Buscentre Coleraine, then from Buscentre Coleraine take the Bus 140B to Dunluce Avenue Portrust, the journey time is approx 2 hours 30 minutes.

Opening Times:

Barry’s Amusements is usually open from late March to the start of September:

Mon to Sun: 10.00/12.30 to 18.00/22.30 approx. There are certain days when the opening times may vary due to weather conditions.

Please Note: The opening times and days are subject to change, it is strongly recommended visitors check on the Barry’s Amusements website for the latest times prior to visiting.

Admission Prices: There is free entry to the theme park, visitors pay as they ride by buying tokens priced at 50 pence each

Mini Pack: £10 for 24 tokens; Maxi Pack: £20 for 50 tokens; Note: Rides cost between 1 and 4 tokens & there are some coin operated attractions & rides that the tokens cannot be used for.


Facilities:

There is a Café on site where visitors can enjoy ice cream, pop corn, candy floss, coffees and snacks.
