Theatre


Theatre lovers can visit the Oxford Playhouse located in Beaumont Street in Oxford. The theatre has earned a fine reputation over the years and is regarded as being one of the leading theatres in the UK. The theatres association with University Oxford brought Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor to their stage in the 1960s. The Oxford Playhouse has emerged as a thriving presenting theatre, a sort after date on the national touring circuit; it enjoys good support from its wide audience base. Cinema

Concerts


For fans of gigs, the O2 Academy Oxford is one of the best places to see live music. The O2 Academy is situated on Cowley Road, not far from the city centre; the venue has a capacity of over 1,300 and attracts a number of local and touring bands of international repute.

The Art Weeks Festival takes place in spring where artists and craftspeople from across the county of Oxfordshire showcase their works to the public. Visitors can see over 500 free exhibitions across the county of Oxfordshire. Visitors will find a wide range of paintings, sculptures, ceramics, furniture, photography, mosaics and digital art.
