Shopping Facilities
The Bullring is the largest shopping centre in Birmingham and one of the biggest in the UK. There are over 160 shops for shoppers to browse, including branches of department store giants Selfridges and Debenhams. The Bullring is a shoppers delight with the sheer range of shops on offer these include shops for clothing and fashion, homeware, music, electrical, gifts and accessories, footwear, toys and travel. Pavilions Central shopping centre located in central Birmingham offers shoppers four floors of shops and facilities. The Great Western Arcade is a shopping arcade located in the centre of Birmingham city centre opposite Snow Hill station. The arcade reminds shoppers of the Victorian heritage of the area, the Victorian architecture provides a unique feel unlike any other shopping destination in Birmingham. The parade was built back in 1876 and has been restored to its former glory. There are over 40 retail units here including those catering for clothing and fashion, gifts and accessories and health and beauty. Martineau Place shopping centre is located in Birmingham city centre close to Corporation Street. The Jewellery Quarter is located toward the north west of Birmingham city centre and has over 100 specialists in the jewellery business making a range of jewellery. This unique area produces approx 40% of the total UK jewellery making it an ideal place to visit for jewellery fans or for those on the look out for that special present or gift. Shoppers can get a good deal here on a range of pieces including some exclusive from the workshops. The area has great historical significant with a long history, it has been proposed as a World Heritage Site. With free museums and art galleries to visit, fans of jewellery and travellers in general can enjoy a fascinating visit here.
The Jewellery Quarter train station is close by and is linked to both the train and tram systems in the area. Jewellery Quarter Station is a short ride from Birmingham city centre.
Car parking is provides by multi storey car parks on Vyse Street and Newhall Street, there is also street parking available.
New Street, Corporation Street and High Street offer shoppers with more traditional high street shopping. There are plenty of well known high street shops located here along with smaller independent retailers making for a great mix of shops and shopping facilities for shoppers to experience.
Birmingham offers a range of markets where shoppers can grab a bargain. There are range of goods on offer in the markets with plenty of bargains to be had at the flea, farmers and antique markets.
Bull Ring Markets is a highly acclaimed market, here you will find great prices on a range of goods ranging from food and fresh produce to clothing to furnishings to homeware and plenty more.

New Street Farmers Market is a place where you can find cheeses that are hand made with interesting names, there is plenty of organic produce on sale here.

10am to 4.00pm on the 1st & 3rd Monday of each month (with variations in December).
Custard Factory provides an eclectic and bohemian mix in the arts and media quarter of Birmingham. There are over 250 small businesses and retailers operating here, shoppers can get a range of items ranging from food and drinks to health and beauty to clothing, fashion and accessories. In addition there are arts and crafts, artwork and more.

There are variations on the shopping centre and individual shops opening hours, this is dependent on the particular establishment and the particular day of the week.
Visitors will hopefully enjoy their shopping visits to Birmingham, however you should be aware of crowds, those around you and follow common sense measures to ensure your safety and that of your valuables.
Always be aware of your belongings especially your wallet/purse and valuables and ensure they are hidden away from public view. If you have a bag try to use a shoulder bag with a strong strap, that is put across your shoulder not on your shoulder making it more difficult for anyone to snatch your bag.
Do not leave your shopping bags unattended to minimise the chance of losing them or cases of theft.
If you are travelling by car ensure you park in either in designated car parks or official street parking bays in Birmingham. Carefully check the rules & regulations & ensure you fully understand them. If you are unsure of the rules it is safer not to park there, beware of possible fines and other sanctions that can be used if you park illegally or not in accordance with the rules.
Birmingham and the city centre has been subject to much development and modernisation work including the roads, be alert for car parking rule changes and possible parking suspensions or temporary measures to help avoid fines.
