Located on the famous Buchanan Street the shopping centre is home to approx 90 stores offers shoppers and visitors a range of goods and services. Opened back in 1999, the shopping centre is one of the largest city centre shopping facilities in the UK.

Buchanan Galleries shopping centre offers shoppers a choice of shops and outlets in the centre of Glasgow. Located at the junction of two well known shopping streets in Scotland's largest city, Buchanan Street and Sauchiehall Street, the shopping centre is ideally located for visitors to the city. With a range of public transport amenities the shopping centre is easily accessible for visitors who have been visiting Glasgow in ever increasing numbers in recent years.

Buchanan Galleries offers shoppers over 90 shops to choose form that include well known high street brands alongside independent retailers and specialist stores. The flagship department store present here is John Lewis with other well known high street names that include Sainsbury's, Next, Boots and H&M. Located in the heart of Glasgow's famous shopping streets Buchanan Galleries has become a popular destination for shoppers looking for a range of shopping facilities.

With more than 90 shops, outlets and boutiques, shoppers can choose from a number of retailers offering a diverse range of goods and services. The stores are spread over four floors, retailers specialising in clothing and fashion for men, women and children include, Next, John Lewis, H&M, Mango, Oasis and River Island.

There are also retailers that specialise in goods and services in the following areas, health and beauty, electronic, telecoms, homewares, footwear, photography, accessories and gifts, sports and fitness, toys and games and services that include travel agents and opticians. For shoppers there is a good choice of shops catering for most tastes and budgets.

There are number of places shoppers can eat here, these include the restaurant at John Lewis that offers hot and cold snacks, drinks and meals. There are a number of coffee shops that include Starbucks, Coffee Republic and Costa Coffee. There are number of outlets that offer snacks and a quick bite, the food court is located on the second floor and includes outlets such as Burger King, Cafe Select and Cafe Italiano offering a range of food and drink that include burgers, baked potatoes, sandwiches, pastries and more.

Like many shopping centres in the UK that are regularly expanding and modernising catering for changes in customer numbers, the market and competition, there are plans to further expand Buchanan Galleries. The expansion will add more shops and restaurants further increasing the car parking facilities and plans for a transport interchange. The aim is to offer more choice to shoppers with more retail facilities and benefit the local area.

Buchanan Galleries is open 7 days a week; however individual store times may vary, with Sainsbury's Central open for longer hours than is the case for the rest of the shopping centre.

Car parking is available at Buchanan Galleries with 2,000 car parking spaces. The car park is open until 11.30pm each day. There are cheap parking rates on Sundays with approx £2 to car all day.


How To Get There


By Car:

The shopping centre is located at the junction of Buchanan Street and Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow city centre. The entrances to the car parks are located on Killermont Street and Cathedral Street. For those using Satellite Navigation systems the postcode to use is G1 2FF.

By Train:

The closet train station is Queen Street station located a short walk from Buchanan Galleries. The main Glasgow Central station is located a 5 minute walk away offering local services in Scotland and National services to other destinations across the UK.

By Bus:

Buchanan Bus Station is a main bus station for Glasgow and offers many bus services across Glasgow and the surrounding regions. The bus station on Buchanan Street is confidently located opposite the shopping centre.

By Coach:

National Express offers a range of services across Scotland and other towns and cities in the UK from Buchanan Bus Station.

By Subway:

The Glasgow subway offers an underground metro train service operating in Glasgow. The closest subway station to the shopping centre is located at Buchanan Street with frequency 6 to 8 minutes.

There may be some variations on the hours of individual shops and outlets in the shopping centre depending on opening hours of each shop and the particular day of the week.

Always remain alert and aware of your belongings at all times especially your wallet/purse and valuables and ensure they are hidden away from public view. If you have a bag try to use a shoulder bag with a good quality, strong strap, that is put across your shoulder not on your shoulder making it more difficult for anyone to snatch your bag.

Do not leave your bags and shopping bags unattended, this will help to prevent theft and stop you misplacing your bags.

If you are travelling by car to Buchanan Galleries ensure you are well prepared with maps and Sat Nav to aid your journey, particularly if you are not familiar with the local area and roads.
