The county town of Rutland is Oakham, the scenic market town is a traditional English town known for its history and heritage. Market Place in Oakham includes a number of local independent shops and amenities and a market selling the finest local produce including meats, breads, cheeses and eggs.

The All Saints Church Oakham is located in the heart of Oakham, the Grade I listed building dates back to the 14th century. The church is known for its tower and spire and dominates views around the area, it is the largest church in Rutland.

The church is in active use with a number of services each week, the church is open to visitors usually during daylight hours.

The town of Uppingham is located approx 6 miles south of Oakham in Rutland. Uppingham is a charming English market town known for its honey coloured buildings. The market town has a weekly market each Friday. The town includes a number of independent shops and retailers including speciality shops.

Visitors can find antique shops and unique items in glass, furniture and jewellery. The narrow streets and small shops are full of character offering visitors the opportunity to explore a quintessential English market town.

Uppingham is known for its art galleries, visitors can see a number of galleries including the Goldmark Gallery and Orange Street Gallery with various collections on display.

Rutland is known for its picturesque villages offering visitors a place where they can enjoy the delights of the countryside along with country pubs, village greens and unspoilt scenery.

The county includes over 50 villages providing visitors with the quintessential countryside experience, the villages are still unspoilt, charming and full of character where visitors can enjoy real ales and a hearty lunch at a local country pub and enjoy a stroll taking in the countryside air.
