Shrewsbury is the county town of Shropshire that is located towards the centre of the county. Shrewsbury is known for its large number of historic listed buildings, the historic market town includes a number of historic buildings dating back to the 15th and 16th centuries. The town centre includes many narrow streets dating back to their medieval origins

The Quarry is a park located in close to Shrewsbury town centre, the park includes the Dingle, a landscaped garden featuring flower beds, statue and memorial benches. The park offers a relaxing green space where visitors can enjoy a walk in tranquil surroundings.

Shrewsbury Castle dates back to the 11th century, the imposing castle is built with red sandstone and is located on a hill. Inside the castle, visitors can see a number of displays that showcase the history of the castle over the centuries and important events.

Shrewsbury Abbey is a historic church that dates back to the 11th century. Located to the east of Shrewsbury town centre, the abbey is currently an active place of worship and holds a number of events throughout the year. Telford is a new town located 15 miles from Shrewsbury in Shropshire. Telford is the largest town in Shropshire having been built back in the 1960s and 1970s as a new town. Telford town centre includes the Telford Shopping Centre with 160 outlets including well known high street brands. The Telford Town Park includes 170 hectares of grassland, woodland, lakes and ponds. The park provides a tranquil green space in which to enjoy a walk and see wildlife and flora.

Ironbridge Gorge is located on the River Severn approx 5 miles from Telford. It is regarded as the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution, and has the distinction of being a world heritage site. Visitors can see a number of interesting exhibitions showcasing the industrial heritage of an area that was once fully engaged in mining, iron making, engineering and china manufacture. There are ten museums on the site that give visitors a fascinating insight and a real experience of what it would have been like during the industrial revolution.

Shropshire Hills Outstanding Area of Natural Beauty (AONB) is located mainly in the south of Shropshire. The hills cover over 300 square miles of land, approx one quarter of the county of Shropshire. The area is noted for its landscape including hills, woods, river valleys and farmland. The landscape is important from a geological and wildlife perspective and presents visitors with a stunning natural environment, varied landscapes with the opportunity to get away from it all.

Royal Air Force (RAF) Museum Cosford is located in the Shropshire village of Cosford, 8 miles from Telford. The museum contains one of the largest aviations collections in the UK with approx 70 aircraft on display. There are a number of interactive kiosks and hotspots that give visitors further insight and information.

Wroxeter Roman City is located 6 miles from Shrewsbury and is the forth largest Roman city in the UK. Visitors can take a tour of the historic ruins of the city, highlights include the municipal baths that date back to the 2nd century whilst a modern highlight is the new Roman Town House that gives visitors a great insight into Roman life.
