Getting To Liverpool Airport

By Public Transport

Train:

There are no rail terminals at the airport, there are a number of local stations that can be used in conjunction with bus services for passengers to get to & from the airport.

From Liverpool Lime Street Station: There are rail services from Liverpool Lime Street connecting the city to the UK's main rail network. From Lime Street station passengers can use the AirLink 500 bus that runs from the Airport every 20 minutes Monday to Friday in the daytime & every 30 minutes at evenings and weekends. From Liverpool South Parkway: Liverpool South Parkway is the main train station that serves the airport and offers links back to the city and beyond including Manchester, Warrington & the Midlands. Passengers can use a taxi service or bus to get to the airport. The buses that offer airport services include the routes 80A, 86A & N86 operated by Arriva Buses the service varies from every frequency of every 7 to 8 minutes to every half an hour depending on the day & time of the day. Bus & Coach:

The Airlink 500 bus service operates from Liverpool city centre to the airport every 30 minutes from Monday to Friday, the journey time is approx 35 to 40 minutes.

The Airlink 700 bus service operates from Manchester city centre to Liverpool John Lennon airport on an hourly basis, the journey time is approx 75 minutes.

National Express operates services to & from Liverpool city centre, where local buses can be used to get to & from the airport. For more information please see: National Express


By Car
Liverpool John Lennon Airport is accessible from the road network from a number of major roads, it is close by to the M56, M57, and M62 motorways.

If you are travelling from the North / North-East: On the M6 southbound drive to junction 21A and exit at the slip road signposted for Liverpool. Then follow the M62 West up to junction 6 onto the A5300 to the A561 and from there you will see the sign taking you to the airport.

If you are travelling from the South / East: On the M6 northbound drive to junction 20 with the M56. Follow the M56 up to junction 12 onto the A557/A562 dual carriageway via Runcorn Bridge to merge with A561. From here you can follow the signs for the airport.

If you are travelling from the Wirral: Drive on the M53 towards Ellesmere Port and join the M56 at junction 11. Drive on the M56 up to junction 12 onto the A557/A562 dual carriageway via Runcorn Bridge to merge with A561. From here you can follow the signs for the airport.

If you are travelling from North Wales: Take the A55 and take the M56 eastbound, Passengers travelling from North Wales should join the A55 to connect with the M56 eastbound, Follow the M56 up to junction 12 onto the A557/A562 dual carriageway via Runcorn Bridge to merge with A561. From here you can follow the signs for the airport.

Airport Car Parking

Liverpool airport has facilities for both Short Term & Long Term Car Parking. Short term There is no charge for short term parking up to 10 minutes allowing passengers to be dropped off & collected from the airport. The minimum cost of parking at the short term car park is £2.00 for up to 20 minutes, the cost is then £6 for 2 hours and £10 for 4 hours. With the cost of parking steep, it is worth pre booking parking to save some of the cost.

Long Term parking is available, charges start from £20 per day if you pay on the day you arrive. Premium parking located adjacent to the terminal building offer parking option in addition to the short & long stay options. The cost is around £30 for 24 hours and £35 for up to 2 days parking. The long term car parking can be pre booked, cheaper prices & discounts are available if you book earlier, if you do need long term airport parking it is well worth booking in advance rather than on the day to both guarantee a parking space and save money on parking costs.
