Getting To Glasgow Airport

By Public Transport

Train:

There are no train terminals at the airport, Paisley's Gilmour Street railway station is the nearest to the airport located approx one mile from the terminal. Passengers can reach the airport by using bus services or taxi. Paisley Gilmour Street station offers a range of rail connections to Glasgow Central, the Clyde Cost and other areas in Scotland. Passengers travelling to Glasgow airport from any station in Scotland, can ask for a rail ticket to Glasgow Airport, this is valid on the train to Paisley Gilmour Street and the bus service from Paisley Station to the airport.

Bus & Coach:

There are a number of bus services passengers can use to get to and from the airport via Glasgow city centre, these include the Service 500 Arriva's Glasgow Flyer offering frequent services at approx every seven minutes. The journey time is around 20 minutes. The bus stops in the city centre have an airport sign on them.

Service 757, the AirLink Direct Express to Glasgow City Centre offers frequency of every 20 minutes and takes passengers to Glasgow city centre via Central & Queen street stations.

Service 747, AirLink city service to Glasgow city centre offers frequency of 30 minutes and takes passengers to Glasgow city centre via Patrick and Charing Cross.

By Car

Glasgow Airport is located around eight miles to the west of Glasgow city centre, the main access point for the airport is off the M8 motorway at junction 28. The journey to the airport from Glasgow city centre is around 20 to 25 minutes and is within easy reach of the rest of Scotland. The airport is close by to Paisley the closest town.

Airport Car Parking

Glasgow airport has facilities for both Short Term & Long Term Car Parking. Short term - There is a facility to drop off & pick up passengers at the airport for up to 10 minutes at no cost. The pick up & drop off zone is outside the main terminal building and is useful if you are just going to be dropping off someone or picking them up once they are out of the terminal building. There is a minimum cost of £1.50 for short term parking of up to 15 minutes. The cost for up to 4 hours parking is approx £7.

Long Term parking is available, charges start from £7.50 per day if you pay on the day you arrive. The car park Glasgow NCP Fightpath is located on the outskirts of the airport and there is a transfer service that takes you to the terminal building every 10 minutes. Cheaper prices & discounts are available if you book earlier, if you do need long term airport parking it is well worth booking in advance rather than on the day to both guarantee a parking space and save money on parking costs.
