Getting To Glasgow Prestwick Airport

By Public Transport

Train:
Glasgow Prestwick airport has a railway terminal at the airport making it easy for passengers to get to and from the airport. The trains take you to and from the airport to Glasgow Central station, frequency is every 30 minutes stating in the mornings until the late evenings. The journey time is approx 50 minutes. All passengers travelling to and from the airport are eligible to receive a 50% discount on the standard fare. In order to qualify for the discount, passengers need to show their official flight confirmation and photo id to the train conductor when buying they are buying a ticket.

Bus & Coach:

The airport has buses that offer passengers services to and from the airport. The Stagecoach Western X77 Express Service, the bus offers services to and from Glasgow Buchanan Street Station. The bus offers a direct service taking passengers to outside the airport on the A79. The X77 bus operates from the morning hours to the evening hours with less frequency on Sundays. By Car
Glasgow Prestwick airport is located close to Prestwick town centre, it is approx 32 miles from Glasgow city centre. The airport is accessible from the A79.

If you are travelling from Glasgow & the North: Travel west on the M8, then take the M77 south, the M77 then turns in to the A77, then take the A78 heading to Prestwick and then take the A79.

If you are travelling from the South: Travel north on A76 then take the A70 at the interchange and drive to the A77 and take the A77 at the interchange, then take the A78 north and the A79 south.

Airport Car Parking

Glasgow Prestwick airport has facilities for both Short Term & Long Term Car Parking. Short term The first 5 minutes in the short stay car park are free of charge, then the £1 for 15 minutes and is £4.50 for up to 2 hours, the cost is then £5.50 for 4 hours. You can save on the cost of parking by pre booking.


Long Term parking is available, charges start from approx £25 for a minimum of 3 days if you pay on the day you arrive. The long term car parking can be pre booked, cheaper prices & discounts are available if you book earlier, if you do need long term airport parking it is well worth booking in advance rather than on the day to both guarantee a parking space and save money on parking costs.
