Guests can enjoy a great start to the day with a hearty breakfast, a full English breakfast with cooked items is available along with a continental selection including a choice of cereals, toast, fruits, juices, yoghurts and tea and coffee. There are also vegetarian options available.

The restaurant offers diners with a range of dishes to choose from, the cuisine is British and International and offers a range of meat, fish and vegetable dishes, there are a choice of temping desserts to try too. The menu includes a choice of liqueur coffees and coffees from Costa Coffee.

There are a range of drinks available at the bar restaurant ranging from soft drinks to a choice of beers, wines and spirits.

Local Attractions


There are a number of local attractions and places of interest close by to the hotel, including the 12th century St Clement’s Church that became internationally recognised in the film Four Wedding and a Funeral. Tilbury Fort is under the ownership of English Heritage and is a fine example of bastion fortress. The Grays Beach Riverside Park is a popular attraction for the whole family; there is an adventure area, café, mini golf course and a promenade that overlooks the river Thames.

The Lakeside Shopping Centre is located less than 2 miles away and offers visitors a huge range of shops with over 250 to choose from and is one of the largest shopping and leisure complexes in the UK. There is also the Lakeside Retail Park located close by to the main shopping mall offering visitors even more choice.

Bluewater Shopping Centre is located just 7 miles away in neighbouring Kent and offers a huge range of over 330 shops and is one of the largest shopping and leisure complexes in Europe. A favourite amongst discerning shoppers there are a number of niche stores and boutiques.

Colchester is located approx 48 miles away and offers visitors a number of interesting attractions and places of including Colchester Castle, a Grade I listed building dating back to the 12th century and Colchester Zoo located on the outskirts of the town.

The town of Chelmsford is located 23 miles away; it is home to historic 13th century Chelmsford Cathedral and Chelmsford Museum which has exhibits outlining the history of the town from its beginnings to the modern day. Hylands House is a Grade II listed 18th century country house and park it is located approx 4 miles away, tours of the house are available.

Further along the east Essex coast Clacton-on-Sea is located 60 miles away, the seaside resort is well known for its beach and the famous pier that offers entertainment for the whole family. Golf aficionados can try a number of golf courses located within a few miles. The Princes and West Cliff theatres are located in the town centre.

There are a number of fine historical building in the county such as Audley End House located near Saffron Walden. Audley End is a Jacobean mansion set in scenic landscaped gardens. Visitors can explore the interior that retains its classical details and has as number of impressive collections of fine furniture and art that make it a popular attraction.

Essex is home to a number of scenic gardens, the most famous is the RHS Garden at Hyde Hall, Rettenden. The hilltop garden offers visitors with an inspiring collection of water plants and a fine rose collection. Easton Lodge is located in Little Easton is a scenic 25 acre garden that dates back hundreds of years. The Hyde Hall estate contains an impressive garden in all seasons offering a tranquil oasis in the countryside.

The coastline offers a number of towns by the beach such as Southend-on-Sea, famous for having one of the longest piers in the world. Clacton and Walton offer fun for the whole family with a range of events such as the Clacton air show and a number of music festivals along with traditional entertainment at the seaside. Frinton-on-Sea is home to a number of interesting antique shops and boutiques.

The hotel provides a convenient place from which to discover a range of attractions in the surrounding Essex countryside. The landscape in the county means cycling is a great way to explore the area, there are a number of cycle routes that have been created allowing cyclists to enjoy touring the countryside by bicycle.

Among the best known attractions in the county is Epping Forest, a popular woodland area noted for its open spaces, it provides a haven away from the towns and cites. Epping Forest has woodland, grassland, rivers and ponds offering visitors with a range of activities including a number of walks, mountain biking, orienteering, rambling and horse riding.
