The hall offers a historic place to stay in a listed country house that combines a number of period features with modern facilities. Prested Hall offers a fine alternative to larger chain hotels, it is located in 75 acres of scenic parkland and has both 15th and 18th century interiors and striking Art Nouveau décor.

The hotel offers a range of facilities for business meetings, events, conferencing and banqueting making the hotel suitable for both business and leisure guests.

The hotel is close by to a number of local attractions and places of interest. Local transport links in the area include Kelvedon train station located approx 1.2 miles away with regular services to London and the surrounding areas and there is access to local bus and major roads.

The hotel offers visitors good levels of service and a friendly welcome. The hotel is located in the Essex countryside close by to villages of Feering and Kelvedon where visitors can find access to local amenities. The closest train stations are located at Kelvedon, Marks Tey and Witham.


Facilities


There are a total of 10 guest bedrooms all of which offer en-suite facilities. Each of the rooms has its own individual style and features and includes comfortable beds and Egyptian cotton bed linen. The majority of rooms offer views over the hotel grounds. Guests can choose from single, double and triple rooms.

Room features include television, telephone, hairdryer and tea and coffee making facilities. There is Wi-Fi internet access available and free on site car parking for guests.

There are facilities for a range of business meetings, events and conferences for up to 150 delegates, the scenic location makes Prested Hall a popular wedding venue and there are a range of wedding packages available with banqueting services available for up to 150 guests.

The Health Club offers a fully featured gymnasium and a swimming pool, sauna and steam room. There are a number of beauty and pampering treatments available at Prested including holistic treatments and natural therapies to help guests relax and make the most of their time here.

Dining


Guests can enjoy a hearty full English breakfast each morning, there is also a continental breakfast option and guests can choose from a range of cereals, toast, fruits, juices and tea and coffee.

The restaurant offers guests with a range of dishes to choose from, there are a range of meat, fish and vegetable dishes on offer. There is an organic vegetable garden on site and the restaurant uses their own produce where possible and other ingredients are locally sourced. The menu consist of a range of exciting, inventive dishes, there are options for vegetarians and for those with special dietary requirements.

Local Attractions


There are a number of local attractions and places of interest close by to the hotel, including the Feering and Kelvedon Local History Museum, there are a number of local country pubs where visitors can sample a range of drinks including real ales and there are a number historic listed buildings in Feering and Kelvedon.

The Lakeside Shopping Centre is located approx 40 miles away that offers over 250 shops and is one of the largest shopping and leisure complexes in the UK.

Colchester is located approx 10 miles away and offers visitors a number of local attractions and places of including Colchester Castle, a Grade I listed building dating back to the 12th century and Colchester Zoo located on the outskirts of the town.

The town of Chelmsford is located 16 miles away; it is home to historic Chelmsford Cathedral that dates back to the 13th century and Chelmsford Museum has exhibits outlining the history of the town from its beginnings to the modern day. Hylands House is a Grade II listed country house that dates back to the 18th century, there is also a park here, tours of the house are available.

There are a number of fine historical building in the county such as Audley End House located near Saffron Walden. Audley End is a Jacobean mansion set in scenic landscaped gardens. Visitors can explore the interior that retains its classical details and has as number of impressive collections of fine furniture and art that make it a popular attraction.

Essex is home to a number of scenic gardens, the most famous is the RHS Garden at Hyde Hall, Rettenden. The hilltop garden offers visitors with an inspiring collection of water plants and a fine rose collection. Easton Lodge is located in Little Easton is a scenic 25 acre garden that dates back hundreds of years. The Hyde Hall estate contains an impressive garden in all seasons offering a tranquil oasis in the countryside.

The coastline offers a number of towns by the beach such as Southend-on-Sea, well known for having one of the longest piers in the world. Clacton and Walton offer fun for the whole family with a range of events such as the Clacton air show and a number of music festivals along with traditional entertainment at the seaside. Frinton-on-Sea is home to a number of interesting antique shops and boutiques.

The hotel provides a convenient place from which to discover a range of attractions in the surrounding Essex countryside. The landscape in the county means cycling is a great way to explore the area, there are a number of cycle routes that have been created allowing cyclists to enjoy touring the countryside by bicycle.

The hotel is well located for exploring a range of Essex’s attractions and the attractions in neighbouring counties. In Kent attractions include Leeds Castle, historic Chartwell House and the World Heritage Sites in Canterbury. The county of Cambridge is home to the world renowned Cambridge University, Fitzwillam Museum, Primavera Art Gallery, Ely Cathedral and the historic Wimpole Hall. The county of Hertfordshire has the Roman city of St Albans, Herford Castle, Letchford Museum and Art Gallery and Hatfield House.

Well known attractions in the county of Essex include Epping Forest, a popular woodland area noted for its open spaces, it provides a haven away from the towns and cites. Epping Forest has woodland, grassland, rivers and ponds offering visitors with a range of activities including a number of walks, mountain biking, orienteering, rambling and horse riding.

The hotel is situated in Essex where visitors will find a county with fine English countryside and quiet country lanes along with a mix of small market villages and larger towns.
