Going on a cruise offers a different holiday experience, seeing the sites from cruise liners on the world’s great oceans and seas offers a different experience to which many people are accustomed. With many routes on offer cruise holidays now really do offer the chance to see the world in style, there is something very relaxing and soothing about cruising on the open seas whilst enjoying the sea breeze and holding your favourite drink. It also appeals to those with a sense of adventure, it is a great tonic to those that long to be on the open seas exploring, seeing and doing new things.


There are many routes on offer to consider, some of the most popular are:

Mediterranean

Cruises to the Mediterranean are very popular and have the advantage of being a relatively short distance from the UK. Cruise destinations may include Barcelona, Rome, Athens and Lisbon among others. Good deals can be had on the fly cruises in this area, you would fly to the destination and then embark on the cruise. You can go on trips of one week or 10 days making it very useful to those wanting a quick break and a bit of relaxation without having to take book lot of time off work.

Caribbean

Cruises to this part of the world remain extremely popular, not surprising considering the sunshine islands of the Caribbean enjoy near year long sunshine, a warm climate and a wonderful relaxed atmosphere most suited to cruising. Cruising is a great way to see the Caribbean and experience the friendly atmosphere in places like the Bahamas, Jamaica, Barbados, St Vincent, Trinidad & Tobago and Dominica to name a few. The unspoilt beaches and crystal clear waters make it a joy to visit.

Far East

Cruises to the Far East offer a variety of destinations to see including Hong Kong known as a bustling metropolis, with its fascinating history and culture and historic links to the UK. Other destinations include Singapore which like Hong Kong offers a fascinating cross road of the best of the west and the orient. Shanghai is one of the fastest growing cities in the world and is at the heart of China's huge economic growth. One of the largest cities in the world it is continuing to grow, the city shows the transformation China has undergone in the past 15 years.

Japan is one of the most fascinating countries in the Far East, it has taken in some western influences whilst keeping some of its traditions and the result is a fascinating country and culture. The land of the rising sun has the port of Yokohama, the second largest city in Japan after Tokyo, where many cruises have a stop off.

Africa and Indian Ocean

Cruises to this part of the world boast some of the world’s most exotic places. The Seychelles with their idyllic beaches, clear blue ocean views and hidden away from nearly any where else make for a great romantic getaway. The mystical island of Zanzibar known as the spice island for its abundance of spices also has some great beaches and year round sun, with its mystical history and ambiance, it offers something a bit different to the discerning visitor.

These are just some of the many cruises available, many options are available and they can last from a few days to months if you so desire. They can go to one destination or around the world too, if you so wish. There are also a range of Cruise Breaks available for the UK offering a chance to enjoy a quick break.

In recent years cruise holidays have become more accessible to more people as prices have become a lot more competitive meaning it pays to shop around for a good deal. Some deals do offer very good value for money when considering the prices normally include all your meals that can add a significant extra total cost to your holiday.
