One of the most famous sites in the resort is the Blackpool Tower, a smaller scale replica of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, it boasts an aquarium, a circus, an indoor adventure playground and an observation deck that is situated over 500 feet high. At the top of the Tower you can observe some of the best views in Blackpool. For the brave there is the Walk of Faith, which is a strengthened glass floor that is nearly 400ft high at the top of the Tower, this gives you the best view of all, straight down. Blackpool Pleasure BeachThose that like a more sedate pace can enjoy a leisurely walk through Stanley Park, Blackpool’s award-winning horticultural and wildlife area. Here you can see the squirrels, view the Italian Gardens the main showpiece of the park and hire a boat on the boating lake and enjoy a great relaxing boating experience. Golfing enthusiasts can enjoy the course at the park too, walkers can enjoy walks at the nature reserve Marton Mere that is situated within close proximity. The park also has a model village and gardens, this miniature marvel has great detail and includes the trams of Blackpool.
The trams are a feature of the resort and help transport some of the estimated 100,000 plus people that visit in peak time summer. Along the Promenade, in the famous Golden Mile is the Sea Life Centre, that has many interesting marine displays including a rare display of sea snakes. The fun and games here include the Whirlwind, Great White Whipper and the Hydrostorm which every few minutes tips 100s of gallons of water onto bathers. The Great Promenade Show celebrates Blackpool and stretches for two kilometres along New South Promenade. The show features 10 features from artists and designers, both well known and emerging talents. The Grundy Art gallery has exhibitions from traditional to contemporary art and the works on show are ever changing.
The Zoo is where you will find many species of unusual and exotic animals, it is a favourite for wildlife and nature fans set in beautiful parklands. Amazonia is an enclosure that allows visitors can see at first hand some of the zoo’s inhabitants.
