Attractions in the local area include the beach, the blue flag sandy beach at nearby Sandbanks, Poole Park, the Dolphin Shopping Centre and the Lighthouse Art Centre. Poole Quay is among the largest natural harbours in the world and has a wide range of bars and restaurants, the area enjoys a continental feel and laid back atmosphere.

Bournemouth is located close by and offers attractions of its own including the beach, Bournemouth Oceanarium and Bournemouth Eye where visitors can experience a hot air balloon ride. The Bournemouth International Centre (BIC) is a multi-purpose leisure and conference venue is also located in the town centre.
