Tips & Other Considerations

- Holidays, short breaks and entertainment venues can be expensive with premium prices at peak periods. Avoid the increased prices by researching well in advance & if you find it cheaper to book in advance do so.

- The Easter period in the UK and overseas is traditionally when many people take time off, there are school holidays allowing families to go on holidays too. The Easter holidays are a time when there is a lot of demand for short breaks, hotel stays, restaurants, theatre and other entertainment. Holidays, hotels and entertainment venues do get booked up, so plan in advance to ensure you do not miss out.

- Easter is a time when many people look for family holidays, do your research and look out for free child places, discounted family room rates and other family related offers and discounts; it can make a significant difference to the total cost.

- It is useful to be flexible regarding places you are prepared to go in the UK & where you are prepared to stay, if this is the case and a particular hotel or short break is booked up you can switch to another one without feeling as though you missed out or had to settle for your second choice.

- It is advisable to double check all of your bookings for hotels, restaurants, entertainment venues, theatre, flights etc to ensure service providers have the correct details and everything is booked as you require it to be. Double checking can help avoid confusion or non/incorrect bookings and identify any problems early on.

- For those not able or willing to go on a break/holiday during the main Easter weekend, there are plenty of other options available. Some hotels offer discounted rates and Easter promotions until the end of April meaning you can still take advantage of the offers beyond the actual Easter weekend period. There are a number of advantages to doing this firstly you avoid the big Easter weekend rush everywhere, known as one of the busiest travel periods in the year. You many also avoid the premium prices that some establishments charge during Easter weekend. You can enjoy your break with fewer crowds and probably at less cost. This way you can help yourself avoid travelling on the peak travel day & avoid the extra congestion & stress.

- If you are travelling during the main Easter weekend starting from Good Friday to Easter Monday, it is wise to allow for extra time in your journey, the roads, rail, flights are likely to be congested and delays are possible. Check the traffic news before you travel. Build in extra time in your journey to ensure you give yourself enough time to get to your destination & catch your train or flight. Leaving earlier can help reduce stress & anxiety.
