Wales is home to 750 miles of coastline and some of the finest beaches in the UK. Visitors can choose from over 100 beaches including over 40 Blue Flag award beaches, the Wales Coastal Path along with its impressive beaches and fine coastal scenery make the area one of the must see areas in Wales and the UK.

Beaches such as Tenby, Barafundle and Rhossili have been regularly mentioned as among the finest in the UK. The beaches are popular with families, those after rest and relaxation and those after outdoor activities including surfing, water sports, swimming and rockpooling. Beaches in Wales include Newry Beach in Holyhead, Rhyl and Colwyn Bay in North Wales and Tenby, Milford Haven, Oxwich Bay and Rhossili Bay in South Wales.

Rhossili Bay beach is located under 20 miles from Swansea, it is one of the best known and most acclaimed beaches in the UK. Owned by the National Trust, it is known for its wonderful views of the Worms Head and offers coastal walks along side the beach an cliffs. There is 3 miles of sandy shore, the facilities, scenery and stunning views make it a firm favourite for families, beach lovers and water sports enthusiasts.

The two largest settlements in Wales, Cardiff the capital city and Swansea are close by to a number of local beaches. From Cardiff, Whitmore Bay beach on Barry Island is located just over 10 miles away, it is the home of Barry Island Pleasure Park with fairground rides, amusements and a range of entertainment. From Swansea, Limeslade Bay beach is located 6 miles to the south, the small bay is surrounded by cliffs offering a number of scenic walks.

Pembrokeshire in south west Wales is home to Freshwater West, a favourite amongst surfing enthusiasts, known for its acres of golden sands and dunes. Barafundle Bay is a compact bay known for its clear waters and golden sands making it a great place to relax and unwind.
