Formally the Thistle Edinburgh, the 4 star hotel offers visitors a friendly and welcoming hotel. The King James is located in the heart of Edinburgh where visitors will find the renowned shopping facilities in Princes Street and George Street, art galleries, bars, restaurants and entertainment venues. The hotel is popular among both business and leisure visitors including during the annual famous Hogmanay celebrations and the Edinburgh Festivals.

Facilities


There are a total of 143 guest bedrooms offering en-suite facilities. Guests can choose from standard, deluxe and executive rooms with a choice of suites for guests requiring more space and luxury.

The guest bedrooms are contemporary in design and offer comfortable 4 star accommodation. Room facilities include air conditioning, television with free view channels, telephone, radio, alarm clock, hairdryer, iron and ironing amenities, work desk and tea and coffee making facilities.

There is 24 hour room service available. The hotel’s rooms are all non-smoking in accordance with hotel policy.

There is Wi-Fi internet access available at the hotel (chargeable). The hotel offers limited spaces in the paid car park and are allocated on a first come first serve basis, guest are eligible for 25% discount on car parking charges in a car park located close by.

The hotel offers a range of facilities for business meetings and special events, including conference room facilities, meeting room hire and wedding halls along with reception facilities. The meeting rooms are equipped with Wi-Fi, flat screen TV and telephone and conferencing facilities offering a great place for business meeting large and small.

Visitors with an interest in local culture can enjoy the evenings of traditional Scottish dance, music and food that takes place here every evening during the period from April until November. The evening offer visitors some great entertainment along with the opportunity to sample the famous Scottish culture.

Each morning guests can enjoy a hot full English breakfast or a Continental breakfast with a choice of breads, preserves, cereals, fruits and hot and cold drinks.

Craig’s Restaurant that offers diners a range of both Scottish and European dishes, the restaurant uses quality local produce offering a range of interesting dishes for diners to try. There are a choice of classic favourites and more contemporary dishes on the menu. Guests can choose from the extensive wine list to find the perfect accompaniment to their meals.

The Boston Bean Company bar is a place where visitors can enjoy a range of drinks and light bar snacks and dishes in a relaxed atmosphere. Drinks include a range of beers, wines, spirits, cocktails and soft drinks. The relaxed atmosphere makes it an ideal place to catch up with family, friends and colleagues.

The hotel is in a central location a short walk from Edinburgh Waverley Rail station and close by to well known attractions such as Edinburgh Castle, National Museum of Scotland and the Palace of Holyroodhouse. In addition the Old and New Towns in Edinburgh that form the world heritage site in the city are located close by.

The hotel is a convenient place from which to explore a range of attractions in the Edinburgh & Lothians region and surrounding areas. The A8 offers access to Edinburgh Airport located approx 8 miles away by road.
