Telford is a new town located 15 miles from Shrewsbury in Shropshire. Telford is the largest town in Shropshire having been built back in the 1960s and 1970s as a new town. Ironbridge Gorge is located on the River Severn approx 5 miles from Telford. It is regarded as the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution, and has the distinction of being a world heritage site. Visitors can see a number of interesting exhibitions showcasing the industrial heritage of an area that was once fully engaged in mining, iron making, engineering and china manufacture. There are ten museums on the site that give visitors a fascinating insight and a real experience of what it would have been like during the industrial revolution.

Shropshire Hills Outstanding Area of Natural Beauty (AONB) is located mainly in the south of Shropshire. The hills cover over 300 square miles of land, approx one quarter of the county of Shropshire.
