Dramatically located on a cliff top, the White Horse Hotel has spectacular views over the sea. It is located on the edge of the South Downs, just three miles from Brighton.

The hotel offers facilities for business meetings, events, conferencing and banqueting making the hotel suitable for both business and leisure guests.

The hotel is located in Rottingdean village where visitors can see a number of local attractions and places of interest. These include the Kipling’s Garden, St. Margaret’s Church famous for the stained glass windows and Rottingdean Windmill. The White Horse Hotel is located approx 4.5 miles from both Brighton and Moulsecoomb train stations, there are regular bus services to Brighton and access to major roads.

The hotel offers visitors a warm welcome and good levels of service. The hotel is located in Rottingdean where visitors can find good access to local amenities. The city of Brighton offers visitors with a choice of shops, cafes, bars, restaurants and entertainment venues. There are a total of 19 guest bedrooms offering en-suite facilities. The rooms are comfortably furnished and guests can choose sea view rooms or a choice of the suites that offer more space and luxury. The room facilities include television, DVD player, iron and ironing board and tea and coffee making facilities.

It should be noted the rooms are on the first floor and owing to the historic nature of the building there are no lifts.

There is Wi-Fi internet access available and there is free car parking available for hotel guests.

The hotel has facilities for a range of business meetings, functions and events for up to 60 delegates. There are also packages for weddings and private functions that offers banqueting facilities for up to 100 guests.

Dining


Guests can enjoy a cooked breakfast each morning along with a range of cereals, toast, fruits, juices, yoghurts and tea and coffee.

The restaurant is one where guests can enjoy sea view whilst they dine. The cuisine on offer consists of traditional English favourites with a range of daily specials; diners can choose from a range of meat, fish and vegetable dishes, there are options for vegetarians. There is a choice of wines to help accompany your meal.

The bar offers a place to sit back and relax with a range of drinks and light snacks available. Drinks include a variety of beers, wines and spirits and real cask ales.

Local Attractions


The city of Brighton is among the most popular and famous tourist destination on the south coast. Brighton is a university city and is popular among young people offering a range of bars, clubs and entertainment venues. It is also popular among older visitors and offers visitors a number of attractions, including the famous beech and pier, historic attractions such as the Royal Pavilion and St Paul’s Church, the Theatre Royal and Brighton Dome offer a range of dance musicals, comedies and drama. Historic houses include Preston Manor with its fine collections of art and furniture and Palmeira Mansions famous for its opulence, grandeur and intriguing mix of features.

Other prominent south coast towns in the area include Eastbourne and Hastings located to the east. Attractions in Eastbourne include the beach and pier, the Towner contemporary art gallery and the Bandstand open air theatre. The South Downs around Eastbourne are an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB); there are the iconic high cliffs at Beachy Head standing at over 500 feet and offers visitors some stunning views over Eastbourne and the English Channel in the distance. Hampden Park and Motcombe Gardens are also popular with visitors offering scenic open spaces and great places to enjoy a walk or a picnic.

The historic town of Hastings is famous for its beach, Hastings Castle, the Bluereef Aquarium and A Smugglers Adventure at St Clements Caves. Battle Abbey is located in East Sussex on the site of the famous 1066 Battle of Hastings, which helped shape English history. There is an exhibition and interactive displays outlining the battle, there is an audio tour of the battle charting key events.

The hotel provides a convenient place from which to discover a range of attractions in the surrounding East Sussex countryside, the charming town of Rye is a scenic hillside town offering a range of antique shops and historic buildings including Lamb House, a charming 18th century house where a number of authors have lived over the years.

The hotel is well located for exploring a range of East Sussex’s attractions and places of interest and of attractions in neighbouring counties. In Kent there are attractions such as Leeds Castle, historic Chartwell House and the World Heritage Sites in Canterbury. The county of West Sussex has Chichester Cathedral, the famous Goodwood Racecourse and Arundel Castle.

Notable attractions along the south coast include Newhaven Fort. A popular historic attraction, the fort dates back to the 19th century and contains a number of fascinating exhibitions outlining both the history of the fort and the area. There are exhibitions relating to both World War I and World War II and life at the fort. The 10 acre site offers an interesting day out for the whole family and some stunning coastal views.

The hotel is located in the coastal village of Rottingdean in East Sussex where visitors will find an interesting mix of fine coastal scenery and countryside. There are a variety number of local shops specialising in local arts and crafts and a variety of bars and restaurants. The hotel is a good base from which to explore a number of attractions in East Sussex and local places of interest.
